Hi, I’m Jayde frederick
Founder and Practice Owner
Every person has a unique story. As a biracial woman, I struggled with identity- personal, cultural, and social. I found myself seeking a therapist to make sense of it all; someone who had an understanding of intersectionality, intuned with my generation, and was relatable. I wanted a therapist who understood my unique perspective on identity, race, family dynamics, balance and self-exploration, someone I did not have to code-switch with… so I became that. I became a therapist to provide a reflective mirror for my clients.
Through my professional work in Person-Centered and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I found a specialty in trauma-informed care. Every person has a unique story and trauma can shape, disrupt and affect the way we perceive ourselves, the world, and the way we heal.
I strive to remain curious and a problem solver. I bring this unique perspective to sessions as I can assist you in exploring more effective ways to cope with challenges, deepen your self-awareness and heighten your confidence in yourself.
Experience:
I have worked within the field of behavioral health and social services for over 7 years in many different settings including private practice, nonprofit organizations, private agencies, governmental agencies, and hospital settings. I have experience with an array of populations including first responders, veterans, survivors of community and domestic violence, incarcerated persons, and those who have experienced adverse childhood trauma. I have worked with programs providing crisis intervention, suicide prevention, assessment and diagnosis, treatment and discharge planning, group and individual therapy and workshops on wellness.
